The Supportive Care
Unit is a secure wing within the facility dedicated to residents
requiring special care and have the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or
other types of Dementia. It provides an environment that is safe
and dignified. The surroundings profoundly influence the behavior
of the residents, enabling them to be successful despite their
limitations. The goal of the unit focuses on the needs of the
confused, the cognitive impaired, the wandering, or those with
special emotional or behavioral issues.

The activity
programming is designed to meet the needs of the cognitively
impaired. We also have a beautiful court yard that enables the
resident to enjoy the outdoors while providing a secure
environment.
The coordinator for
the Supportive Care Unit is involved the local Alzheimer’s Support
Group sponsored by the Greater PA Chapter of the Alzheimer’s
Association.
